Mono-color

I've recently stumbled across the work of Steven Gambrel and I was blown away!  Take note how almost every room uses different intensities and shades of the same hue.  An entire room in one color??? He makes it work! He balances the rooms by using one of the softer shades on walls and the darker tones for the furniture, rugs and curtains. He also suggests painting molding or paneling in a lighter tint. “It allows edges of the room to come forward and the center of the wall to recede, giving the space more dimension.”

Turquoise is my favorite color!  I love the use of different textures and materials in the room1

Giddy Up!

When some people hear the term "Equestrian Decor" they automatically think of pillows covered in horses and of a ranch out in Tennessee or Texas. The truth is that anyone can incorporate a little equestrian into their home for an unexpected element and beautiful accent!

Around the World

Globes are a great way to accessorize any space whether it be a library, den, or living room.  Not only are they practical but they have a way of making a room seem like it has taken years to perfect and be just so.

Imagine Nations has some very unique globes shown below:

National Geographic also has some beautiful globes:

Park City!

I'm jetting off to Park City tomorrow to attend Sundance and see my good friend who is on the Park City Ski Team.  I've been dreaming about exposed wood beams, cozy fires, and natural elements! I've included some ideas if you're thinking of turning your space into a ski lodge inspired room!

Remember: choose warm, rich tones like shades of browns and reds.  Use oversized rustic furniture…imperfections make the space more authentic! Plank wood floors are woven or animal hyde rugs are also common and throw in a rustic antler or antique wrought iron chandelier!

So Airy!

Kitchen cabinets don't have to be used for just storage!  You can turn your kitchen into a work of art and show off some unique and fun pieces.  If you can handle seeing your dishes and cups out on display then open shelved kitchens may just work for you! I love them but I also think you  have to keep up with making sure the shelves aren't cluttered or messy! below are some examples.
