Kelly Wearstler Fashions Out!

Check out this great article in C Magazine about Kelly Wearstler's dive into the fashion world at: Shop Girl, Via C Magazine

I love all her textiles and just everything about her so it's no surprise her fashion line is to die for!  I love her use of different materials and textures.  The line is both edgy and feminine at the same time.  (Take a look at the pyrite and brass bangle below!)

Floor Decor

A Rug is a Great way to add visual interest to a room! The key with a busy rug is to keep the furniture and other accessories low key.  I especially love chevron patterns or these fun geometric patterns below!

Robin's Egg View!

I have always loved Robin's Egg Blue paint color by Benjamin Moore! It's a subtle and pretty blue that can be used on furniture, walls…anywhere!  Also you can play with light and how it affects the tint of the blue!

A kitchen flooded with light gives the blue a cheery appearance!

The brass and shadows give the blue a greenish tint and change the color completely!

The Original Color Blocker!

Color blocking has been seen all over lately from fashion magazines to interiors but this trend has been around for quite some time!  Mark Rothko used color blocking in his paintings way before any current designer!  His paintings are a great inspiration or starting point for designing a room or color scheme.

No. 12 – Mark Rothko, 1951

try out a color or two in a room!

Katharine Hepburn's Connecticut on the Market!

Being from Connecticut, I have a special place in my heart for the Long Island Sound area. Katharine Hepburn's home is located a couple towns over from my own hometown.  I always drive past her house when my friends and I go out on the boat!  And now, Katharine's summer "cottage" can be yours for a cool 28 million dollars!

The house sits on more than 3.4 acres with  6 bedrooms,  7 baths and 680 feet of waterfront from which Old Saybrook’s Outer Light and Inner Light lighthouses can be seen to the east, and where the mouth of the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound

My friends and I boating past the Lighthouse that can be seen from the Hepburn Estate!
