Playing with Fire

Light is a great way to add an unexpected and exciting design into you home!

This pinecone pendant lamp was designed by Pave; Eekra and mimics the shape of the pine cone.  The 56 semi-transparents scales create a soft and inviting glow. Each scale is held together by a single screw and is hidden by the scale before it.

Nathalie Dewez creates lamps by Sol-air, halogen lamp and plays with the concept of light and shadow.  She combines long and thin carbon tubes, Lamp06 or Prism-frame for lighting, made of steel and then colored.  Her materials include metal, glass, and technological materials like carbon fiber.

Mediterraneo is a result of Swarovski’s collaboration with architect and designer Gaetano Pesce. These lights are designed in the same style of a traditional chandelier, but Pesce’s design consists of 140 crystal strands, each one consisting of 87 swarovski crystals lit up by LEDs that change color and also change shape and emit a scent.

Jeroen Verhoeven has created a large chandelier named Virtue of Blue adorned with 502 blue butterflies.  Solar panels were cut into the shapes of four different breeds of butterfly.

Festival Fetish

I love the bohemian look and come summer it's all about musical festival style where I can let my gypsy style run wild!  White lace and crochet were huge this year!  You can also incorporate this fun look into your home with fringe accessories or some tribal patterns!

Lace it up!

A major fashion trend that's been popping up all spring and i'm sure will continue all summer is the lace and sheers trend.  This is both flirty and feminine!  Lace can get a bad wrap and remind people of their grandmothers house but there are way to incorporate lace into your home in a fresh and modern way!

The design of office in Stockholm is based on the spirit of Skype and how it is a useful and playful tool that connects the world.  These fun interconceted chairs are a great modern way to use lace!

Ikat Take My Eyes Off You!

Ikat prints are classy and modern all at once!  They're fun to mix with other prints like chevrons or they can stand alone.  They're a great surprising touch to a classic room or you can create tribal and bohemian vibes!

To Dye For!

I love all things 60's and 70's including tie dye, but tie dye doesn't have to look like you walked into a grateful dead concert.  There are many ways to  incorporate tie dye into your look and interior design in a fun and classy way!

Batik Boutique

A stylish way to spruce up your home for summer is with bold prints like geometric patterns, and what I'm currently loving, Batik Patterns!

True Batik is made by brushing or drawing hot wax over cloth and then dying it.  The parts covered in the wax resist the dye and remain the original color while the areas without wax are dyed into intricate patterns.  This process of waxing and dyeing can be repeated to create more elaborate and colorful designs.
